Conflux is partnering with Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network that securely connects smart contracts to off-chain data feeds, web APIs, and traditional payments. Oracles are necessary as DApps need reliable data from real-world sources to execute smart contracts upon meeting predefined criteria.
Chainlink’s oracle network acts as the translator that enables Conflux smart contracts (on-chain) the ability to interact with reliable and trustworthy information from outside the Conflux blockchain (off-chain). Uniquely, Chainlink brings decentralization to off-chain connections (oracles) to ensure there is no single point of failure in the smart contract.
In order for the DApps of the future to reach billions of users, the underlying blockchain layer needs to be connected to off-chain data and systems in a highly secure manner. Without off-chain connection, blockchains are isolated networks with limited functionality, akin to computers without the Internet. This connection sparks the beginning of a bright future for mass adoption and is critical for improving the developer experience.
